LIBRARY READ ALOUDS DURING THE COVID-19 CLOSURE

Mr. Robert has created a playlist with library songs (from the past four school years) and read aloud videos.  Each Monday, he will post a new read aloud for PreK-2nd grade, one for 3rd-5th grades, and an all-grades read aloud video.  Click the link below to get to the playlist

    Checkout/Curbside pick-up during COVID-19 school closure

Would you like to check out books from the Highland Park Library?  We will begin a system to put books on hold online and then pick them up at Highland Park.  From now through Thursday, October 29, follow these instruction to put up to FIVE books on hold for pick-up:

    • Go to www.seattleschools.org
    • Select the blue ‘Student Family Portals’ tab at the top/middle of the page.
    • In the middle of the next page, click on the blue ‘Clever, the Student Portal’ tab.
    • Select ‘Log in with Active Directory.’ (If you have never logged onto Clever before, you may be prompted to use your SPS email address/password.)
    • Click on the ‘Library Catalog’ icon.
    • Scroll down to ‘Washington’ for ‘Location,’ and begin typing in ‘Highland Park. ’Select ‘Highland Park Elementary, Seattle, WA.’
    • In the top right-hand corner, click on ‘Log in.’
    • Enter your username (your SPS email address WITHOUT ‘@seattleschools.org’) and your password.
    • Use the search bar at the top to search for books by topic, title, or author’s name.
    • Click the blue ‘Hold’ button to reserve a book. If the green ‘In’ tab is on the top left-hand corner of the listing, the book should be available for you to pick up. Ignore the alert that says that the book is available now and that you should pick it up by a given date. You will pick up the book on either November 3 or 5.
    • You may ‘hold’ up to five books.
    • Drive by and pick up your books from the Highland Park covered entrance either on Tuesday, November 3 from 2:30-4:00 or on Thursday, November 5, from 11:30-1:00. (Your books will have a rubber band around them, and your name will be on a sheet of paper attached to the bundle of books.)
    • If you have trouble placing your holds, email Mr. Robert, cjrobert@seattleschools.org, and he will place the holds for you!
